Once a qualifying cartridge is in our possession it is inspected and sent to our production line. It is then disassembled, cleaned and the remanufacturing process begins. Depending on the make and model of the cartridge, anywhere from 7 to 9 different components are replaced and new toner is added. The cartridge is resealed and its performance is tested for quality. The cartridge is packaged and resold to a completely separate clientele base then our I.M.P.A.C.T Recycling program participants. There is no obligation for any one to purchase toner from us however we do offer a free sample trial cartridge to anyone interested in doing there one quality test.
Materials rendered useless are sent to Accu-Shred for the proper environmental breakdown into raw materials such as buttons, chalkboards and small electronic parts.
The remanufacturing process:
- The cartridge of choice will be taken apart to create the toner hopper section which includes parts such as mag roller, developer roller, doctor blade, doctor blade bar, brushings, contacts, etc.. (parts will vary by type of cartridge). Then the waste hopper section which could include parts such as wiper blade, PCR, corona wire, drum, etc…
- Each half will be taken apart, down to its plastic shell.
- The components that are damaged are put into separate bins and discarded later.
- The shells and components being reused are thoroughly cleaned and placed back into their rightful position.
- New parts will be added when needed. Also, carts involving chips will always receive a new chip.
- When the two halves have been completed it's put back together and is now ready for testing.
- After testing, any parts that are in the way of a quality print are replaced to ensure the best quality.
