When refurbishing a printer there is a step by step process that the technician follows to make sure that you are getting "brand new quality". The process starts with a thorough cleaning of all the external parts of the printer. After that takes place, an inspection is performed to insure that there are no cracked or broken parts and that everything is functioning normally. Next follows a meticulous cleaning of all the internal parts. The paper path is disassembled so that a maintenance kit can be installed. Depending on the printer model, a maintenance kit will consist of several different parts. These parts include various rollers, separation pads, and a rebuilt fuser. Once all the parts are replaced the printer is then reassembled and all of the printer's settings are reset to factory default.
Testing the printer is the final stage. The technician will run quality control checks to assure that the functionality level is normal.
